I was catching up with my good friend/superstar entrepreneur Khai Lee last night. We were talking about our businesses and goals for the future. Then he asked me a question, “What would your short term success look like?” My answer was completely regarding monetary goals. When I woke up this afternoon, I realized that my answer was not quite right. Yes, of course the main objective of running a business is for profit maximization but the measure of success is subjective to each individual. Success for some people could be to own a Ferrari and a big house or providing the best education for their children or even being able to sit down twice a week for dinner with the whole family.
I have lived here in Damansara Jaya for the past 19 years. I studied in SRK DJ and then SMK DJ. So, like many other true DJ-ians, the DJ spirit is damn strong within us and if there’s one thing for sure, we are all most proud of our two time national champion cheerleading team, Dynamitez.
Having left school for 7 years now and running a t-shirt supply, print & design business, we(Saltyskins /cs), were 100% full on on making this year OURS. The approach was no easy task. We knew no one in the team(coz we be old ppl), we struggled to get into that contact list of cheerleaders. Then once we got in, we were told that they already have their usual t-shirt guys in mind. We were at war, and had to win this war for the love DJ. We pitched them, we showed the cuts, we gave the designs, we offered sponsorship and most of all we put our DJ spirit into it and…………………………………. we got it.
So what would my short term success look like? Apart from the continuity of Saltyskins /custom shop, it has got to be being a part of the Dynamitez once again.
Here’s a teaser of the 2010 Dynamitez T-Shirt.
Available in Black & White.
Saltyskins /custom shop signature “Skin Fit” and “Baby-T” cuts.
